We have always been a dog loving family, Basil (our very friendly black springador) and Polly (our Mums energetic springer spaniel) are a very important part of our clan.
We know that dogs offer so much to a family apart from the traditional health benefits of making us get out to walk each day They are also wonderful for our mental health. I know a cuddle from Basil at the end of a long days is a ideal way to relax and unwind.
As a family with children it is wonderful to have dogs in the gang, the friendship between Basil and our children has been wonderful to watch develop. Basil is also helping us teach our children to be kind and caring.
A Warm Welcome at Walkers Farm Cottages.
We enjoy welcoming guests with their 4 legged friends to Walkers Farm Cottages. With 100 acres of farm land and surrounding moors to explore. There are great walks along the old droves criss-crossing the moors. We can provide maps and routes for a gentle amble or a longer hike, We can also help with ideas of dog friendly places to stop for refreshment, We can recommend the cake at The Lemon Tree cafe.
The gardens and orchards at walkers Farm Cottages are perfect for guests and their dogs to relax and play. We have compiled a list of local places to eat and visit that welcome people with well behaved dogs. Places that we have enjoyed visiting with Basil are Barrington court, and
Our Favourite walk from Walkers Farm Cottages is the River Parret Trail, following the river Parret as it winding its way through the somerset levels to Langport. Once in Langport, we love visiting Kitchen at the Wharf for a lovely meal. Doggy treats and a water bowl are waiting to reward your walking companion.
At Walkers Farm we provide a dog water bowl and towels to dry and clean your dog after a walk. We have a comfortable kennel (should you need it) and contact details for doggy day-care and a local vet. Please see our Dog Friendly holidays page
